Breaking Through Training Plateaus!
Hello,
Today I am going to share some pearls of wisdom on
how to break through training plateaus.
Check out this question from one of your fellow
subscribers:
"I have been doing weights for a few years now but I can't get any stronger - I lift the same amount of weights as I did when I started. How do I improve?"
This is a common question I get from many people
who have been training for any extended period of
time.
The answer to your problem can be found in the
following quote:
"If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always got in the past."
Simply stated, if you want to see renewed progress
you need to try new things my friend.
There are many ways to add variety to your training
program including:
-Change your training routine every 3-4 weeks to
avoid stagnation and keep ahead of the adaptation
curve of your body
-Change the number of sets you perform
-change the number of reps you perform for each set
-Change the rest period between sets
-Change the format of your training program
-Change the implements you use (switch from dumbbells,
barbells, medicine balls, kettlebells, sandbags, kegs,
tires, logs, sledgehammers, stones, weighted vests, etc.
-Change the training split that you typically follow
(Straight sets, circuit training, supersets, drop sets, etc.)
-Change the exercises that you typically perform
(Back squats, front squats, 1-leg squats, etc.)
-Change the angles that you use with your strength
training workouts
(inclince push-ups, flat push-ups, decline push-ups, etc.)
These are just a few ideas of ways that you can use
to break through a training plateau but if you implement
one or two ideas you will be well on your way to increased
strength levels and renewed progress.
Train with purpose,
